Why Is Delhi, The Most Polluted City In The World?

Delhi, the capital city of India, holds the unfortunate title of being the most polluted city in the world. Despite being the heart of the country, the air quality levels mostly remain a severe challenge. Because each winter as from October to February, AQI levels in Delhi routinely eclipse 700—and have even spiked above 700 in some areas—posing severe health risks. Stubble‑burning, vehicular emissions, industrial pollution, etc, contribute majorly to the air pollution. Delhi’s low wind speeds and temperature inversions trap smoke and emissions, creating long smog, unlike other cities.
